Extended Care
Peoria Academy is pleased to offer a quality before and after school program for students in grades Pre-K through 4th grade. The hours of our program are as follows:
Before Care 7:00 a.m. – 8:30 a.m.
After Care 3:30 p.m. – 5:30 p.m.
The Before Care program is held in the front hallway of the gym, and students may choose from a number of activities. Children may select to play a card game, build with Legos, play board games, draw, engage in sports activities in the gym, or play outside if the weather permits.
The After Care program is divided into two groups PreK – 1st and 2nd – 4th graders. PreK – 1st grade students will meet in the gym hallway. 2nd – 4th grade students will meet in a classroom for check in and then transition to another area for activities. The location of each group will be placed on the dry erase board in the Commons. Activities for the After Care program are similar to those offered during Before Care. The After Care program also provides a snack.
There are two options for usage of the Before / After Care program:
1. Register by the start of school for a fixed schedule per semester
2. Use the Before and After Care Program on an “as needed” basis
Our daily rates for the fixed schedule are:
$5.00/day Before Care
$6.00/day After Care
$4.50/day Additional child rate / per session
$8.00/day Drop-in Before Care/per child
$8.00/day Drop-in After Care/per child
Whenever possible, parents using the “drop-in" session are asked to call the office at least ½ hour prior to the dismissal of school to let us know that the child will be attending After Care that day. The ½ hour will allow our staff adequate time to notify your child and assure him/her that the parent’s plans have changed. All children who are not picked up by 3:40 p.m. will be sent to After Care and charged the “unscheduled” fee. In addition, students dropped off before 8:20 a.m. without a parent accompanying him/her will be sent to Before Care and charged the “unscheduled” fee.
Our staff appreciates your consideration and observance of the 5:30 p.m. pickup time. Late fees will be charged to all students not picked up by 5:30 p.m.
