Peoria Academy is seeking early childhood, primary, and middle school Substitute Teachers for the 2022–23 school year. Founded in 2000 as an independent, non-sectarian, coeducational school for students age 3 through Grade 8, Peoria Academy prepares students for a lifetime of success through a rigorous academic program and school community that nurtures the whole child.
Academy students go on to great success in the area’s honors and International Baccalaureate programs. We leverage the remarkable diversity of our student body to help all students gain cultural fluency.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree preferred
3 positive professional or collegiate references
Passion for teaching and learning
Strong classroom management skills
Job Type: Temporary
Salary: $120.00 per day or $60.00 per half day
Responsibilities:
Work with early childhood, primary, and middle school students.
Follow lesson plans provided by the regular teacher to create a cohesive and
consistent learning experience for students.
Understand and apply school rules and policies.
Manage the classroom effectively to encourage student participation, minimize
distractions, and maintain a positive learning environment.
Supervise students in and out of the classroom, including in the halls, on the
playground, and in the cafeteria.
