Our History
Peoria Academy opened its doors in August 2000. The innovation of a group of local parents, community members and administrators, Peoria Academy was envisioned as a place that promoted the highest intellectual, creative, social and physical growth in each child while respecting ethnic and cultural differences.
More than 25 years later, that vision has blossomed into a thriving community of learners. With expert faculty members, a world-class IB curriculum, creative and enthusiastic students, dedicated administrators and engaged families, we have continued to build our school on those foundational values.
Our school building on Willow Knolls Drive, first renovated by that early group of supporters, has grown to accommodate a growing student population. It now boasts a school garden, state -of-the-art science lab, expansive playing fields and a playground; an art studio, climbing wall, gymnasium and individually designed classrooms.
