Diversity and Inclusion
Peoria Academy was founded on a commitment to diversity. To us, that’s more than a label. We are a community that values different understandings of the world and is dedicated to learning from, and listening to, one other. Our families come from dozens of countries, landing in central Illinois for many different reasons. Some are new here; others have lived in Peoria for generations. We cherish the different backgrounds of our students – whether ethnic, geographic, racial, religious or intellectual. We believe that “inclusion” is more than a buzz word.
Our intentional commitment to diversity - in its broadest intellectual and moral sense – helps our students develop critical thinking and the skills needed for success in a global economy. It also builds respect, empathy and kindness. And that, we believe, matters.
